West Bengal approves Rs 50,000 aid for unmarried women pursuing higher education, 14,454 govt jobs

West Bengal Cabinet has approved the Bhagini Nivedita Scheme, under which unmarried women pursuing higher education will receive Rs 50,000 over three years from January 2027. The state has also cleared 14,454 government vacancies, increased Karmabandhu remuneration and raised the monthly food allowance for SC and ST students living in government hostels.
