Luca Zidane, son of French football icon Zinedine Zidane, starts in goal for Algeria at the 2026 FIFA World Cup against Argentina. Despite representing France at youth level, the 28-year-old switched allegiances in 2025 through his grandparents’ Algerian heritage. He made his debut in October 2025 and has earned eight caps since. Zidane also wears a protective mask following a jaw fracture suffered in April while playing for Granada.
